The health care system is a substantial part of the national quality strategy of fur production: by means of the health care system the overall quality of fur can be improved, the international competitiveness of the domestic production can be raised at the same time as the animal disease situation in Finland is maintained good and welfare is enhanced.

The main thing is after all to focus on the animal itself. Most inspections and visits on farms concentrate on compliance with the law. To gain the farmers trust, the veterinarian must point out the benefits of the health care system and stress that the visit is no inspection!
